Jennifer Rene Psaki
Jennifer Rene Psaki is an American political advisor who served as the 34th White House press secretary from 2021 to 2022. As a member of the Democratic Party she has previously been a part of the Obama administration as White House deputy press secretary (2009), White House deputy director of communications (2009–2011), the spokesperson for the United States Department of State(2013-2015) and White House communication director (2015–2017). Psaki was a CNN political contributor from 2017 to 2020. Psaki began her career in the 2001 re-election campaigns Iowa of Tom Harkin and Tom Vilsack Both Democrats running for U.S. Senate. Psaki was later named the deputy press secretary of John Kerry's campaign for president in 2004. Psaki worked from 2005 to 2006 as communications director to Joseph Crowley, U.S. representative, and as regional press secretary for the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee. Psaki was appointed press secretary for President Obama's 2012 election campaign. [20] Psaki was named as spokesperson for the United States Department of State on February 11, 2013. Her appointment in the Department of State fueled speculation that she would succeed White House Press Secretary Jay Carney when he left the White House. However, on May 30, 2014 it was announced that Josh Earnest would replace Carney. The White House welcomed her back to the White House in 2015 as the director of communications, and she was there until the closing of the Obama presidency.
