Kyra Minturn

 Kyraminturn Sedgwick was born on August 19th, 1965. She is an American actress and producer. Her leading role on TNT's crime drama The Closer as Deputy Chief Brenda Leigh Johnson is her most popular. As a result of her portrayal as Johnson, Sedgwick won a Golden Globe Award in 2007 and an Emmy Award in 2010. The seventh season of the series concluded on August 13, 2012. Sedgwick is also known for her part in Brooklyn Nine-Nine's sitcom Madeline Wuntch. Sedgwick was nominated to the Golden Globe award in 1995 for her performance on Something to Talk About. Sedgwick's other roles in films include Oliver Stone's Born of the Fourth of July (1989) as well as Cameron Crowe's The Ones (1992) as well as Heart and Souls-1993), Phenomenon (1996), What's Cooking (2000) and Secondhand Lions (2003). The Game Plan (2007) and The Possession (2013). Sedgwick was the daughter of Patricia Rosenwald who worked as a speech and family therapist and Henry Dwight Sedgwick IV who was a venture capitalist. Her birthplace was in New York City. Her mother was Jewish and her father was an Episcopalian as well as of English origin. Sedgwick declares herself Jewish, and she has said that she participates at Passover seders.
